The 3rd Torfaen Community & Volunteer Awards are happening on October 20th at The Parkway Hotel & Spa.

Many amazing local organisations and businesses are supporting TCVA23, here we’re taking a look at some of those.

Nick Byrne is the Owner/Manager for The Dragonffli.

What encouraged you to sponsor the Torfaen Community and Volunteer Awards?

Always like to support the local community via Charity and Sponsorship.

Why are awards like TCVA important?

Because not only does it give something back to the people who take there time out to help others in need it shows gratitude to those who have helped and continue to do so.

Why is it important to showcase Torfaen in this way?

We all need to stick together to support each other especially in current times.

About The Dragonffli

The Dragonffli is one the south Wales valley’s most premier live music venues.

Formally known as the Hog n Hosper, this venue was sadly missed when it closed its doors to the public some years ago.

Nick Byrne, a local musician and producer took this opportunity to invest in the building.

Since this acquisition there have been a number of improvements to the venue including a new performance room, sound and lighting rig. Also, a complete refit of the toilets and a new hallway extension.

The Dragonffli has already been open for coming up 10 years  and has hosted countless gigs from both up and coming established acts with many famous faces either playing our showing up these include Blaze Bayley (Former Singer with Iron Maiden) Dan Reed of the Dan Reed Network Duff Mckagen of Guns and Roses, Slaves now know as Soft Play. The Dragonffli has also hosted countless charity functions which have raised £10,000’s for local and National Charity’s.

We look forward to celebrating all the amazing work that’s been happening in Torfaen in the past year with the awards that happen on October 20th at The Parkway Hotel & Spa.
