Post Trainee Youth and Community Support Worker x 2
Salary Apprenticeship Rate
Hours 30 hours per week
Term 12 Months
Location Base Portland Buildings, Pontypool, and Outreach
Are you aged between 16 and 25 and looking for a new and exciting opportunity, working with young people in the community!
Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, in partnership with Torfaen Youth Service are offering two individuals an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience, skills, and qualifications in the field of youth work and community development and will offer an opportunity to make a positive impact in the communities while building a foundation for a meaningful career in this area.
If you are looking for a career in youth and community work, are self-motivated with a strong desire to make a difference to our communities in Torfaen with an ability to demonstrate experience and the potential to build effective relationships with young people and community groups, this is perfect for you. You will get a real ‘hands-on’ practical experience in a real job role, learning the right skills in a real environment.
No formal qualifications are required.
Successful candidate will be subject to a DBS Check.

- your interest in and knowledge of youth and community work and what you believe the current issues facing young people and communities are.
- good written ability
- your commitment to completing the Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate/Award in Youth within 12-month period
- Work Practice/principles and essential key skills of COMM, AON and Digital Literacy.

Torfaen Voluntary Alliance (TVA) is the County
Voluntary Council for the Borough of Torfaen and Surrounding Areas.
We are a partner in Third Sector Support Wales
partnership.
Our mission is to value and actively support the
contribution of groups, organisations and individuals, through voluntary
action.
We are seeking trustees who are passionate about our cause, share our
values, and want to use their skills and experience to help us make a
difference. Trustees are unpaid directors, who work together to oversee the
strategy, direction and aims of the organisation.
We would welcome any individual interest. However, particularly
seeking someone with some HR, finance, or legal experience.
